Monla Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in North Lebanon, was established in 1957 by Dr. Tarek S. Monla. Since then the hospital pledged to provide comprehensive care in various specialties by qualified doctors, staff and state-of-the- art technologies.

Surviving the Lebanese war, the hospital management promised to keep on leadership in medical care. In 1995, a new hospital building was established and the following departments were started:
- The first Open Heart and Cardiac Surgery Unit in North Lebanon
- A highly advanced Diagnostic and Therapeutic Center
- A Cardiac Care Unit (CCU)
- 24 hour Emergency Room
- 24 hour Laboratory
- 6 Specialized Clinics

In 2002, an Australian consultant, OPCV (Overseas Projects Corporation of Victoria), supported by the Lebanese Ministry of Health and financed by the World Bank, conducted a nation wide Hospital Accreditation Project. Hospitals were surveyed based on two sets of standards: Basic and Accreditation. The results showed that Monla Hospital was 89% in compliance with the Basic standards and 69% in compliance with the Accreditation standards and accordingly was ranked number 1 among Private Hospitals in North Lebanon.
